Travel Guide .com is the premier online guide to Stowe, Vermont showcasing hundreds
of exciting events and attractions in and around Stowe - the 'ski capital of the
east' . Stowe lies in a broad, fertile valley between Mt. Mansfield and other
peaks of the Green Mountains on the west, and the"Hogback" Mountains on the east.
It was chartered in 1763 and is rich in history. Unlike most of Vermont, Stowe's
history does not center exclusively around farming. By the mid-1800's, Stowe had
developed
into a famous summer resort due to its good transportation connections and spectacular
mountain scenery. Today it is both a winter and summer vacation destination. Stowe
ski resort is located on Mount Mansfield, Vermont's highest peak at 4,393 feet
above sea level. The Stowe Recreation
Path The Stowe Recreation Path is a path that is in and around the
Village of Stowe. It has received recognition from politicians, Vermont citizens
and tourists, and has environmentally and economically strengthened the town and
surrounding areas. The Stowe recreation path was completed in 1989 and extends
5.3 miles. The Stowe Recreation Path attracts families to Stowe and the path offers
spectacular views of the Green Mountain scenery.

and yelling your head off, somehow you survive. Individuals
with little to no experience can enjoy a wilderness rafting trip by taking advantage
of the services offered by outfitting companies. Whitewater
Rafting trips are designed to emphasize learning, paticipation, and enjoyment
and can vary from easy excursions to wild adventures. Depending
on the time of year and the waterway selected, you can enjoy rafting from a mild
mannered river wild, turbulent sea of heart-stopping adventure. WHITE
